Press Release: NEWTON CREATIVE AWARDS 2012 - MUSIC

We are glad to announce that the Newton Store hosted on Thursday 29th November the prize giving ceremony of the Music category of the Newton Creative Awards 2012.

We have recorded a total of 38 entries which can be played on our here

His Worship the Mayor and Charlie Moore as Head Judge announced the names of the winners and commended artists for the different age groups and handed certificates to:

For the 12 and under age-group:

- Winner: Elijah Cruz, Lewis Davies of St Joseph's Middle School for "End of Time"

- Highly Commended: Christian Mercieca, Ethan Llambias, Janice Franco, Julianne Coleing of St Anne's Middle School for "Just Take My Hand"

- Commended : Christopher Reilly, Nicole Peterson, Isabella Griffin, Giliana Crespillo of St Anne's Middle School for "Dynamic Structure"

- Commended : Hannah Caras-Altas, Gabriella Chipol of St Joseph's Middle School for "Never Be Alone Tonight"

- Commended : Niall Serra, Doran Torres of St Joseph's Middle School for "Rockers Life"

For the 13 to 16 age-group:

- Winner: Kian Khalilian for "Natures Wars"

- Highly Commended: Evan Torrente Galdez for "Spiders"

- Commended: Chad Gillingwater for "Minimalism"

- Commended: Kian Hansen for "Sounds of Nature"

For the 17 and over age-group:

- Winner: Paul Santos for "PARAGON"

- Highly Commended: Ian Russo for "Soaring"

- Highly Commended: Denis Valerga for "EREBUS"

- Commended: Brian James Balban for "Seen The Sign"

The 4 winners received Newton Store vouchers and are now running for the NCA-2012 Overall Prize which will be awarded at the end of the season in February 2013 among the winners of the three categories Art, Music, and Short Film. The Overall Prize is an Apple iMac 27-inch (value of £1,279).

The next closing date for submissions is the 31st January 2013 for the Short Film category. The rules and the application form are available on our here
