A big congratulations to Ms. Susie Hersh for winning the Bill by Email draw. The Newton Store in Irish Town generously donated an iPad Mini for the draw, which chose the winner via a random number generation program operated by the store. Ms. Hersh collected her prize from Newton Store Director Cyril Dominicy. Bianca Garcia of AquaGib also attended the prize giving. AquaGib is always trying to provide customers with innovative and helpful services that reduce our impact on the environment, and paperless billing is the latest step towards a greener, sustainable approach to our services. The Newton Creative Award for Music 2013 has closed last Friday.
We have received 27 entries in the 3 different age groups, with 12 entries from St Joseph's Middle School and 7 entries from St Anne's Middle School.
All entries are up on our website and we encourage the public to vote for their favourite: newton.gi/vote-music13.
His Worship the Mayor will be announcing the winners at the Newton Store on Thursday 28th November at 5.45 pm

Press Release: NEWTON CREATIVE AWARDS
We are glad to announce that the Newton Store hosted on Tuesday 26th November the prize giving ceremony for the Short Film category of the Newton Creative Awards 2012.
His Worship the Mayor announced the winner: Nathan Conroy for his Short Film "Radio Frequency", and presented him with a certificate and a £200 voucher from the Newton Store.
The overall prize for the 2012 season went to Anne-Marie Valverde for her entry in the Art category: "Geisha 2332". Anne-Marie being in California at the moment, her brother was presented with the prize on her behalf of an Apple iMac 27-inch to the value of over £1,400
Lastly, the 2013 season of the Newton Creative Awards was opened. The Art category will be loosely themed on "WATER" this year to help artists find inspiration. The Art category closes on the 15th of May 2013. The Music category closes on the 15th of November 2013.
There will be no overall prize for the 2013 season but the individual prizes for the two categories and all three age groups (under 13, under 17, and 17 and over) will be more substantial with iPad minis, iPads, and MacBook Airs or vouchers for their equivalent value up for grabs.

The Winner of the Newton Creative Awards 2012 Music category (17 and over), Paul Santos came today to collect his certificate and £200 voucher. You can listen to his winning song here and of course to all the other great submissions too.

We are glad to announce that the Newton Store hosted on Thursday 29th November the prize giving ceremony of the Music category of the Newton Creative Awards 2012.

His Worship the Mayor and Charlie Moore as Head Judge announced the names of the winners and commended artists for the different age groups and handed certificates to:
The 4 winners received Newton Store vouchers and are now running for the NCA-2012 Overall Prize which will be awarded at the end of the season in February 2013 among the winners of the three categories Art, Music, and Short Film. The Overall Prize is an Apple iMac 27-inch (value of £1,279).
The next closing date for submissions is the 31st January 2013 for the Short Film category. The rules and the application form are available on our here
Following an online survey Radio Gibraltar, in association with Newton Store in Irish Town, has given away an iPad 2 to one lucky respondent who took part in a prize draw.
The short survey was conducted on the radiogibraltar website, and the draw was made by Miss Gibraltar 2012 Jessica Baldachino at the Radio Gibraltar Studios.
Winner Christine Donaldson said: "It was lovely to receive the news". The iPad was collected on her behalf by husband Andy and presented by Newton Stores Managing Director Cyril Dominicy yesterday.
